Role Description
The Plant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position located in Detroit, MI. The Plant Manager will oversee daily plant operations, including production activities, resource allocation, and workforce supervision to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring operational policies, optimizing manufacturing processes along with continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will lead and develop plant teams, manage performance metrics, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The Plant Manager will be very involved and floor focused.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in plant leadership, including Plant Management and Plant Operations.
- Strong background in Operations Management and Manufacturing Operations in a highspeed manufacturing facility, in a CPG environment.
- Proficiency in Production Planning, scheduling, and coordinating workflows to meet demand and capacity requirements.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements in manufacturing settings.
- Proven ability to lead and develop diverse teams, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, preferably in business or Mechanical Engineering, and eight years or more of high speed/high-volume plant management, in a CPG environment
