Company is a leading manufacturer of branded and private label paper products including plates, bowls, cups, bags. Due to our growth, we are seeking a talented VP Sales and Marketing to lead our team, based out of our headquarters. This is a career opportunity for the right candidate. Company is privately owned, family run.
Reports to: CEO
Location: Upper Midwest
This individual will exemplify both a strategic and tactical results approach to the business. This individual must be a proven CPG Sales executive with proven results within the retail and foodservice channels. He/she must be able to build relationships quickly with the leading business partners, lead his/her team, gain respect and action from the broker partners, and influence the overall company strategy.
Provides the leadership for the company’s entire Sales Team.
Achieve the company’s budgeted sales volume and margin objectives.
Develops and executes an ongoing sales plan to ensure objectives are met.
Actively participates and contributes to the development and communication of the company’s long-term strategic business and annual operating plans.
P&L responsibility as part of execution of business plan and strategy.
Develop and implement go to market strategy into additional retail and foodservice chains looking to capitalize on growing consumer trends.
Assumes the ultimate responsibility for company customers, their relationships with the company and the overall mutual success as it relates to the company.
Creates and further develops his/her own relationships with senior level customer decision makers.
Fully understand marketing and the role marketing plays in the total mix.
Make selected customer calls and presentations either in conjunction with appropriate company sales personnel or solo as needed.
Develops and executes a customized customer strategy that maximizes a win/win for both parties.
Understands which customers have the optimum ROI for the company.
Makes effective presentations to senior management and the board of directors.
Effectively manages and develops the sales team and all affiliated employees within a direct reporting relationship.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of 10-15 years sales and sales management experience within segment.
Possess solid sales experience in several customer channels to include: Retail Grocery, Mass, Dollar, Distributors, Drug and Foodservice.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations internally to senior management and the board of directors.
Ability to make successful solutions-based propositions for customers.
Solid analytical skills.
Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Travel as needed.
Ability to live and work out of the Headquarters office.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University.
